Happy Pride Month y'all!
I thought I’d celebrate by opening up a bit about my own sexuality.
A few years ago I came out at Bisexual, but that’s because of a combination of not fully understanding my own sexuality and not knowing what Pansexuality was.
But here I am now, as a self-actualised 23 year old.
I am proud to say that I am an Androgynous Pansexual.
What that means is that I do not identify with any gender in particular, as I carry and embody traits of both typical masculinity and femininity.
Some days I am a soft pink princess, and others I am a mighty prince. Some days I embody a woman in her power and others I feel more like a testosterone fulledteenage boy.
Pansexuality, or omnisexuality, is the sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity.
And Androgyny is the combination of masculine and feminine characteristics.
Therefore I identify as an Androgynous Pansexual.
Labels don’t mean all too much to me, but as this world is so hung up on boxing concepts, these are the non-boxes that I ‘fit’ into.
I felt the need to share this because I want to express that your sexuality is a highly personal thing. It’s taken me a long time to get to a point of being comfortable in my truths, but now that I’m here, I’m proud to be the creature that I am.
The shape, size and colour of your lover could not be less important.
All that matters is that you love each other in a way that builds one another up.
Your love should make the world a better place.
In the wise words of Miss KESHA Rose, “don’t let the bastards get you down. Don’t let the mean girls take your crown.”
You are divine!
You are loved!
You have purpose and you not only deserve to be here, you are MEANT to be here!
